Dr. Jingwei Bai obtained his B.S. from Peking University in 2006. After that, he pursued his Ph.D. at University of California, Los Angeles (2006-20011) on graphene nanoelectronics. From 2011 to 2013, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist on solid state nanopore and nanogap based biosensor at IBM Thomas Watson Research Center. Then, he joined world-leading next-generation-sequencing company Illumina Inc. as research scientist on new generation DNA sequencing platform development. In 2016, Dr. Bai was awarded 1000’s young talents and joined School of Pharmaceutical Science, Tsinghua University as a Principle Investigator. His current research interest is focused on bionanoelectronics enabled DNA sequencing technology, drug discovery and bio-machine interfacing.
