Xiaoping Shi currently serves as General Manager of Akrion Italy in Milan since September of 2025. Before joining Akrion Italy, he worked as VP/Chief Scientist in Beijing NAURA Microelectronics for about 10 years, where he was in charge of multiple R&D projects. Prior to NAURA, he was with imec in Belgium for 15 years. During his stay in imec, his focus was mainly on the field of CMOS down-scaling, covering multiple CMOS technical nodes from 130nm down to 10nm. Prior to joining imec, he worked for BLL Microelectronics in US and the Netherlands for 8 years, and the Semiconductor Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing for 2 years.
Xiaoping Shi has experiences on semiconductor device integration & thin film technologies. His R&D topics involve various device integration modules, and different thin film deposition techniques as well. He has published more than 80 academic papers in various international journals and conferences, and been invited to give presentations at many international conferences. Currently he also serves as a committee member in a few international conferences.
