Rohan Akolkar is presently the F. Alex Nason Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. At Case, he is also the Ohio Eminent Scholar in Advanced Energy Research, the Faculty Director of the Great Lakes Energy Institute and the Deputy Director of a DOE EFRC on Breakthrough Electrolytes for Energy Storage. Professor Akolkar’s research spans many areas of electrochemistry and electrochemical engineering with a focus on electrodeposition for applications in nano-electronics, batteries, sensors, and electrometallurgy. His research has been recognized by the CSE Research Award (2016), the Norman Hackerman Young Author Award of the Electrochemical Society (2004), and numerous industry awards and patents during his 8-year tenure in R&D at Intel Corporation.
