Dr. Ping Zhou is a professor of mechanical engineering at the Dalian University of Technology. He received the BS, and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering Mechanics from DUT, China, in 2003, and 2009, respectively. In 2010, he joined the Center for Institute of High-performance Manufacturing at DUT. His research interests include precision grinding of hard-and-brittle materials, polishing technology, mechanical sealing technology, and proton exchange membrane fuel cell stack assembly. He has published more than 40 papers in the field of manufacturing technology and fuel cells. His research work now aims at the development of grinding techniques for hard and brittle materials with less residual damage and more efficiently, as well as at enabling the polishing process to be implemented more economically and ecologically. He has successfully awarded three research grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one research grant from the Ministry of Science and Technology with significant contributions to the improvement of the performance of various precision machining methods, such as polishing, grinding, and electrochemical machining.
