Shih-Chii Liu is a professor in the Faculty of Science at the University of Zurich. She co-directs
the Sensors group (https://sensors.ini.uzh.ch) at the Institute of Neuroinformatics, University of
Zurich and ETH Zurich. Her research is on bio-inspired neuromorphic deep neural network
algorithms that can be mapped seamlessly to hardware integrated circuit systems. Her group also
designs custom hardware systems that integrate energy-efficient computing networks together
with the asynchronous spiking outputs of their neuromorphic vision and auditory sensors for realtime edge intelligent applications. Her team was awarded the 2020 Misha Mahowald Prize for
Neuromorphic Engineering for their work on "Hearing with Silicon Cochleas".
